Vascular Conditions & Symptoms We Evaluate

Learn about common conditions treated at VidaVascular, the symptoms patients notice, and the minimally invasive treatments that may help. Symptoms can have more than one cause, so a medical evaluation is always the first step.

When it's an emergency

Sudden shortness of breath, chest pain, coughing up blood, fainting, or a leg that suddenly becomes cold, pale, or blue needs urgent care. Call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room.

Noncancerous growths that form in or on the uterus. Symptoms often depend on where the fibroid sits and how big it is.

Common symptoms

  • Heavy menstrual bleeding or long periods
  • Pelvic pressure, fullness, pain or cramps
  • Frequent urination or constipation
  • Pain during sex
  • Fatigue or dizziness from anemia
Important: These symptoms can also happen with other conditions, like adenomyosis or endometriosis, so a proper evaluation matters.

Swollen veins in the lower rectum or around the anus. Internal hemorrhoids often bleed and may not hurt much.

Common symptoms

  • Bright red blood on toilet paper or in the toilet bowl
  • Itching or irritation
  • Pain or burning
  • A lump or swelling near the anus
  • Prolapse during bowel movements
Important: Rectal bleeding is not always hemorrhoids. It can come from other issues that need medical attention.

A blood clot in a deep vein, most commonly in the thigh or calf. A clot that travels to the lungs can be life-threatening.

Common symptoms

  • New swelling in one leg
  • Pain or tenderness in the calf or thigh
  • Warmth or redness in one area of the leg
  • Skin that looks shiny or tight
Important: Shortness of breath, chest pain, coughing up blood, or fainting need emergency care right now. Call 911.

Related treatment

Narrowed or blocked leg arteries, most often from plaque buildup (atherosclerosis).

Common symptoms

  • Calf, thigh, or buttock pain with walking that stops with rest
  • Leg fatigue or heaviness when walking
  • Cold feet or one foot colder than the other
  • Slow-healing sores on toes, feet, or ankles
Important: Sudden severe leg pain or a leg that becomes cold, pale, or blue is an emergency. Call 911.
